Deputy Executive Director

The American Chamber of Commerce in Tajikistan (AmCham Tajikistan) is seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and results-oriented professional to join our team as Deputy Executive Director.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced leader who is passionate about private sector development, business advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and organizational management. The Deputy Executive Director will work closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to support the Chamber's strategic objectives and ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Director in implementing AmCham's strategy, annual work plan, and Board decisions.

• Coordinate the Chamber's daily operations and oversee administrative processes.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with member companies, government agencies, development partners, diplomatic missions, and other stakeholders.

• Lead the planning and implementation of business events, advocacy initiatives, working groups, and networking activities.

• Support membership growth, retention, and engagement initiatives.

• Contribute to fundraising efforts, sponsorship development, and partnership building.

• Supervise staff and consultants, ensuring effective performance and coordination.

• Represent AmCham at meetings, conferences, and public events when required.

• Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director and the Board.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, International Relations, Law, Management, or another relevant field.

• At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience, preferably in the private sector, business associations, international organizations, consulting, or project management.

• Strong understanding of the business environment in Tajikistan and private sector development.

• Experience working with senior executives, government officials, development partners, or international organizations is highly desirable.

• Excellent project management and organizational skills.

• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• High level of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and accountability.

Language Requirements

• Excellent written and spoken English.

• Excellent Russian.

• Tajik is considered a strong advantage.
