Project Coordinator
Position Summary
Project Coordinator will lead the coordination of project-related engagements with local implementing partners and key state actors on strengthening collaboration and cross-learning from the activities implemented on the ground and promoting best practices at the national level. She/He will work closely with Search Thematic Lead, other staff, local implementing partners and other stakeholders to ensure timely and quality implementation of the project. She/He will administer day-to-day progress of activities and will ensure that the implementation of activities is meeting Search quality standards, is completed on-time, within budget, and to maximum effect. This includes providing a regular engagement with stakeholders and networking contacts with local government, international and local agencies. She/He will also collaborate closely with the Search team Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Manager, Finance and Grants Coordinator, as well as experts working on the project to ensure the deliverables are of high quality and delivered in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
● Coordinates project start-up processes.
● Leads day-to-day delivery across strategic communications in close coordination with Thematic Lead and Implementing Partner.
● Monitors program implementation against work plans, tracking progress and flagging delays or issues.
● Administers the reporting process.
● Supports donor communication.
● Monitors and enforces donor compliance.
● Actively engages with Search Asia/MENA Regional team, collaborating across countries and workstreams to support regional program delivery.
Contributions
1. Develops all internal and external reporting, ensuring high-quality, well-written, and timely reports meet donor and Search requirements. Ensures that draft reports are disseminated with the Thematic Lead and relevant Asia/MENA regional colleagues for review and feedback.
2. Liaises with implementing partners regarding program implementation and compliance.
3. Analyzes the potential risks related to Search’s program implementation practices and communicates to the Program Manager in due time while seeking mitigation measures.
4. Provides first level technical review of agreements and and contracts by implementing partners to ascertain they are aligned to Search’s internal policies and procedures and the deliverables are realistic.
5. Monitors the program implementation and budget variance analysis of grants to ensure objectives are met.
6. Participates in reflection sessions and discussions on adaptation.
7. Supports recruitment of Assistants and contributes to team growth planning to meet evolving project needs.
8. Ensures program-related capacity building availability for implementing partners and Tajikistan staff.
9. When called upon, supports review of strategic proposals, budgets, and budget narrative to ensure completeness and compliance with stipulated donor rules and regulations.
10. Coordinates with M&E Manager and other relevant Search staff to ensure lessons learnt and reflections are incorporated in program reports and action plans developed from these lessons. This reflects good practice in reflective practice and adaptive management.
11. Is a member of a community of best practices to standardize existing tools and inform program implementation best practices.
12. Supports Program Manager in project amendments such as NCE and budget realignment in collaboration with Finance and Grants Coordinator.
13. Supports the development and implementation of Central Asian OKRs (objectives and key results).
14. Infuses organizational values into all work.

Type and Nature of Contacts
1. Routinely coordinates with implementing partners, consultants on-site and in the field and resolves problem situations with tact.
2. Represents, as assigned, selected projects and other organizations, including donors, vendors, and international and local partners.
3. Interacts within the broader Central Asia team and Asia/MENA regional team.
Education and Experience
Minimum requirements for this position include:
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding, International Relations, Project Management, with at least least five years of project coordination experience preferably with international NGOs or Master's degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding, International Relations, Project Management, with at least least three years of project coordination experience preferably with international NGOs;
● At least two years of training and facilitation experience;
● Proven experience of working with high-level national and regional state institutions in any capacity;
● Proven experience with project budget management;
● Experience in implementing EU and USG-funded projects is highly desired;
● Experience on peacebuilding projects is highly desired;
● Advanced knowledge of Tajik, and English languages (written and oral);
● Advanced user of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and office equipment
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Usual office environment conditions; ability to travel at least 20% of time.
