Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is looking for a capable, flexible and motivated Cook to join its team in Khorog, Tajikistan.
Main responsibilities:
Prepare meals for MSF staff according to hygiene and safety standards.
Ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
Plan meals and prepare shopping lists when necessary.
Monitor food supplies and inform the responsible person when items need to be replenished.
Purchase food and other kitchen supplies when required.
Set the table before meals and clean it after meals.
Keep the kitchen, utensils and equipment clean and organized.
Take proper care of kitchen equipment and supplies.
Maintain an inventory of kitchen utensils and equipment, including plates, glasses, cutlery and cookware.
Report any loss, damage, deterioration or other incidents related to kitchen equipment or supplies.
Follow all hygiene, safety and security rules.
Requirements:
Basic literacy is essential.
Cooking training or relevant education is an advantage.
Previous cooking experience is desirable.
Knowledge of the local language is essential.
Responsible, flexible and motivated.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Good stress management and organizational skills.
