The project delivers essential healthcare services through fully equipped mobile clinics operating in underserved regions. Normeca International AS is committed to ensuring high-quality, compliant, and transparent operations in all aspects of its work.Position overviewThe Senior Accountant is responsible for the full scope of accounting activities of the organization in Tajikistan. This is a hands-on position requiring daily operational accounting work in addition to ensuring compliance with local legislation, accounting standards, and internal policies. The role requires a high level of independence, accuracy, and professional integrity.Main responsibilities: Maintain full and accurate accounting records in accordance with local legislation and applicable accounting standards Perform daily accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, journal entries, and maintenance of the general ledger Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing Prepare, review, and submit tax returns and statutory reports in compliance with local tax regulations Manage bank reconciliations and analyze accounts and transactions Ensure proper documentation and correct registration of all financial and tax-related records in the accounting system Support budget preparation and perform variance analysis Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and explanations Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures Ensure continuous compliance with legal and regulatory financial requirements Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, banks, and consultants as required Identify and propose improvements to accounting processes and controlsRequirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Professional accounting qualification (CAP or equivalent) is preferred Minimum 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with international or foreign organizations Strong knowledge of local tax legislation and reporting requirements Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards (IFRS or equivalent) Experience with accounting software and financial systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Good in English, written and spoken High attention to detail and strong sense of responsibility Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle operational workloadWhat We Offer: Opportunity to gain experience in an international organization operating to international standards Competitive salary package Free medical care for the employee and immediate family at Normeca clinics Stable and meaningful work contributing to improved healthcare access in Tajikistan Scope of Work: Full timePlace of Work: HQ Office based in Dushanbe.
