Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is looking for a capable, flexible and motivated Watchman to join its GBAO PHC Project in Khorog, Tajikistan.
Main responsibilities:
Monitor access to MSF premises and direct visitors to reception during authorized hours.
Contact the administration team to confirm visitor access when necessary.
Patrol the premises and perimeter regularly and ensure that security posts are never left unattended.
Monitor and control vehicle movement within the premises.
Check that doors and windows are locked and lights are switched off when staff leave the premises.
Check that security lighting is functioning properly and report any problems.
Keep the area around MSF premises clean and tidy.
Perform basic garden and general maintenance tasks when required.
Maintain torches, lighting equipment, communication radios and spare batteries in good working condition.
Monitor fuel levels and maintain the necessary supply of fuel.
Check the proper operation of generators and water pumps and maintain operating records.
Be familiar with the location and proper use of fire extinguishers.
Inform the line manager when materials arrive before unloading.
Assist MSF staff with carrying heavy items when necessary.
Follow MSF security procedures and ensure the safety of personnel and premises.
Requirements:
No formal education required; basic literacy is an advantage.
Previous experience in a similar position is an advantage.
Local and Russian languages are essential.
Basic English is an advantage.
Responsible and attentive to security and safety.
Flexible and able to work under pressure.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Strong commitment to MSF principles and service orientation.
