Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is looking for a capable, flexible and motivated Medical Doctor to join its GBAO PHC Project in Khorog, Tajikistan.
Main responsibilities:
Provide outpatient and inpatient medical care according to MSF medical protocols and professional standards.
Diagnose medical conditions and provide appropriate treatment.
Conduct medical consultations, examinations and follow-up of patients.
Prescribe treatment according to MSF protocols and monitor patients' progress.
Explain diagnoses, treatment plans and medical procedures clearly to patients and their families.
Monitor hospitalized patients and decide on discharge or referral in coordination with other doctors.
Ensure appropriate and safe use of medicines, medical equipment and supplies.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, disinfection, sterilization and infection prevention.
Participate in the collection and analysis of epidemiological data.
Report medical complications, errors and other important issues to the responsible manager.
Support and provide ongoing training to medical and paramedical team members.
Ensure MSF medical protocols and universal precautions are properly followed.
Maintain professional confidentiality and patient privacy.
Requirements:
Medical Doctor qualification.
Specialization in Tuberculosis is essential; Family Medicine specialization may be accepted.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a TB Medical Doctor or relevant clinical experience.
Experience in infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS, public health, general medicine, paediatrics or tropical medicine is an advantage.
Good knowledge of Tajik and Russian is essential.
English and local language skills are an advantage.
Willingness to learn English.
Strong clinical and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Flexible, responsible and committed to quality patient care.
Ability to work under pressure.
