Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is looking for a qualified, capable, flexible and motivated Driver to join its team in Khorog, Tajikistan.
Main responsibilities:
Safely transport authorized passengers and goods using an MSF vehicle.
Check the vehicle daily, including tires, oil, fuel, brakes, radio equipment and spare parts.
Keep the assigned vehicle clean and in good working condition.
Carry out regular vehicle checks according to MSF procedures.
Drive carefully and follow national traffic regulations and MSF safety and security rules.
Ensure the safety of all passengers during travel.
Check that passengers have the necessary documents before travelling.
Load and unload goods correctly and ensure all required documents are completed.
Check vehicle documents and ensure the driving license and other required documents are valid.
Report any accidents, incidents, damage or other problems to the line manager.
Use radio communication equipment according to MSF communication procedures.
Follow security procedures related to checkpoints, roadblocks and vehicle movements.
Ensure passengers understand and follow relevant safety and security rules.
Requirements:
Basic literacy and a valid driving license.
Minimum 2 years of previous driving experience.
Good knowledge of roads in GBAO.
Experience driving on mountain roads and in snow and icy conditions.
Experience with 4x4 vehicles is an advantage.
Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge is essential.
Basic mechanical knowledge is an advantage.
English, Russian and local language skills are required.
Previous experience with MSF or other NGOs is an advantage.
Responsible, flexible and able to work under pressure.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
